I have posted these thoughts before, and it comes back to be said again. We always do our best work, when we go back to our roots, forget about everything we thought we knew, and learn anew. We make it fresh.
I remember reading comic books as a young boy, and wanting to be able to draw like my favorite artists. I wanted to draw Batman, Superman, and Spiderman. So, I started with the first line. I have had many mentors over the years, George Nielsen, Paul Abrams, Malcolm Jones III and others, each with something to teach me.. George Nielsen told me to do it over a hundred times, and it will be perfect.. So, I drew that first line again, and again.. Today, people will come to me, asking if I could draw this or that; I tell them I can draw anything. I don't limit myself.. Many will say, I wish I could draw like you.. I tell them, it starts with drawing the first line..
